Sad news from Aves.
I've received an email from Francisco EA7FTR who spoke by phone to YV5ANF, and reports that Jose, YV5LIX while on Aves Island with the YX0A team, became a Silent Key on Thursday night, April 20, 2006, at 57 years of age.
Jose, while mounting a dipole on the beach during the night had a sudden, massive heart attack and died instantly. The doctors of the team made every effort to save his life, but in vain.
The team decided to continue the DxPedition using the new call YX0LIX as a tribute to his memory.
Our heartfelt condolences goes to his family and friends. |
